what does progress look like?
We bought a Christiania bike coz we are Danish now
It has a box on the front that the girls can sit in and we can cycle them to and from school.
I took it to pick up Annabelle and bought Sophia along for the ride.
An 8 mile round trip with 45kg of children into strong winds with what is effectively a parachute attached to the front.
Compared to the normal ride in it was tough and added 10 minutes to my journey.
As I write this 4 hours on my thighs are trying to talk me out of doing it again at 7:15am tomorrow.
^^^^ this is written by way of a pretty weak segway into talking about struggle.
Our body's, our nervous system, our immune system and our mind, are built on it.
We are
In ALL areas
as strong as our struggles.
Growth is firmly planted on the other side of the thought,
I can't do this
Once you look back and it's done.
I say this because of two things:
We live in a world where the need to struggle has been removed. It exists now only by choice.
Those who choose it, but manage it, tend to win.
Secondly, we are too often mis-labelling struggle as stress.
If we can reframe it, smile, dig deep, then let it go and recover on the other side.
I know we'll each comeback stronger.
